Baby Shower

My good friend Brooke offered to throw me a baby shower.  Despite this being baby number three, I've never had a really big baby shower.  Brooke pulled out all the stops despite having a sinus and throat infection.  I brought Piper with me since I knew she would have a fun time.  Kris handled the decorations and my mom was in charge of the drinks.

We ate strawberries with sour cream and brown sugar, blue cheese dip with veggies, chocolate chip pumpkin bread, hummus, and candy.

It was a wonderful day; I was so spoiled by all my friends and my mom.

An original quilt made by my mom.  It's chicken-themed so she titled in "The New Chick."

Simon Has Eye Surgery - AGAIN!

Back in January Simon had eye surgery again.  This time it was on the outer muscles of his eyes.  He did really well.  The surgery was over quickly.  They took out his breathing tube when he was still pretty sedated because he has a bronchial spasm last time due to his asthma.  He slept for a long time in recovery but it was good for me to be there with him when he woke up.

He still has some slight pink scarring on the whites of his eyes due to a bad reaction to the stitches.  He now has to patch 30 minutes a day due to his right eye still turning a little.  Hopefully we'll be able to avoid a repeat surgery.

Not Catching Up (for now)

For whatever reason, I cannot find my pictures from Thanksgiving/Christmas from last year.  So I'm not gonna post about the holidays for now.  In the meantime, check back for updates from February until now.

The Color Run

Earlier this year my mom told me that her ward's Relief Society was going to sign up as a group to run The Color Run.  The Color Run was founded by my friend Heidi and her husband Travis.  This run was scheduled for November in San Diego.  My awesome friend Chellese even agreed to come down from Utah to run it with me.  Well, between when we signed up and the race, I found out I was pregnant.  That meant that I would be walking, not running, my first-ever 5K.  My mom and Chellese were kind enough to walk with me.

We headed down after school on Friday and enjoyed our lovely walk on Saturday morning.  Rick and the kids decided that we'll have to do the race again next year as a family.  Simon, in particular, was bummed that he couldn't walk with me.  At the end of the race, they have a major dance party (that Travis DJ'd) and the kids got lots of energy out and lots of color on them.

We concluded the morning with breakfast at the Eggery, Rick's favorite breakfast place.  It did not disappoint.

Happy Color Racing!

Baby Johnson is walking too.

My mom got this pic of Piper.  Frankly, I was a little weirded out by this guy.

At the happy wall.  My happy thought was "baby #3."

Celebrate all the color!

Loving the green goggles look.

All colored up

My mom got the kids t-shirts and Piper this cute tutu.  Thanks Mom!

Don't you love my gritted smile?!

Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Everywhere

My parents grew these massive pumpkins for us to pick.  The kids had fun designing the face for me to carve.

Simon, Miri, Solana  Avila, and Boston (all blondies!)

This pony ride was $5 but we'd never done it before.  Lots of fun.

A storm is brewing

He looks like his Grandma Ann here.

Picking his pumpkin, and one for Piper too because he's such a thoughtful brother

We've measured Simon against this board for the last three years.  He's definitely growing.

What beautiful kids I've been blessed with!
