Bathtime

Simon seemed to enjoy his first bath but I did keep it short. One thing that will be nice about giving him baths in this tub in the sink is that I will have to do the dishes in order to give him a bath.

Poor Sleepy Girl

This is our poor girl after too many nights of restless sleep due to her croupy cough. I knew that she had fallen asleep next to me when she wasn't talking anymore while I was watching Jeopardy. She's on the mend thankfully.

Playing together

Here's Piper and Simon enjoying some tummy time together.

A Visit to the Temple

This past Friday was our stake's celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Columbus LDS Temple. Since I couldn't really go what with needing to feed Simon and all Rick went to the temple. Piper, Simon, and I went along to Columbus for the ride. It was our first trip there and we had a good time. The weather was hot so we walked around the temple grounds, collected leaves, and ate cookies while Rick was inside. Then we went to the outlet mall and bought Piper a craft table from Pottery Barn Kids. We had dinner at A&W before driving the three hours home. It was a fun day, though Piper came down with croup that night. Maybe not so much fun.

Fieldtrip to the mall

We recently took a fieldtrip to the mall as a family. We hadn't been there in a long time - it's not a great mall but we needed to look for a new watch strap for the beautiful watch Rick gave me.

Driving the bus

Chillin' as usual

I'm keeping 'em coming...

Does my hair look alright? (Doesn't his hair look slightly red in this picture?)

Chillin' with Dad

He sure does love to lounge and stretch out.

Raspberry picking

Last week we decided to do some raspberry picking. Piper enjoys picking any sort of fruit or vegetable, though that doesn't guarantee she'll eat 'em. (I'm still trying to convince her to try a blueberry.) And raspberries are Rick's favorite fruit so off we went. The weather was great and we picked two quarts of raspberries. Piper would've picked more if we had let her but two quarts was enough. Simon had a two minute crying jag but for the most part he just slept.

Stay tuned for apple picking in October.

More of Simon

For all of you Simon fans, here are some more shots of him. We like him; I think we'll keep him.

Piper checking out her new baby brother. She proclaimed him to be "beautiful." When he cried, she told him, "Don't worry baby, I'm here. I'll be your big sister forever."

He's an easy-going kind of baby. How at peace he looks.

Rick thinks it's crazy how a body can bend so easily. And look at that grin.

Rick's birthday

I'm very late in posting these but I thought that we should preserve the gradeur that was Rick's birthday cake this year. I won't detail how many sticks of butter and cream cheese went into making it (read: lots). We had tons leftover which I took to the ward activity later that day.

Purple Piper

Me, calling from upstairs: Piper, are you playing with the markers?
Piper: No.
Me, after seeing this face: No markers, huh?

Let's just say that all art supplies were restricted for a few days afterwards.
