Moving Day

Piper was excited about the move it seems, enough to help with the boxes.

This is what "home" looked like for a few days after the move. Can someone say "disaster area"?

Piper has decided that she wants to drink Coke Zero like daddy. (It's an unopened can, by the way.)

Our new view. Spectacular!

Smiley girl

This is how Piper wakes up - happy. She is definitely not her mother's daughter.

Already a KU fan, she can even locate her Jayhawk doll if you tell her to go find it.

Happy Birthday Piper!

For Piper's first birthday Rick was in Melbourne so we took the party to him. Here are some pictures from the fete (Rick's co-workers came over to celebrate with us).

This is Piper's first proper taste of "sugar." We think that she liked it.

Rick's colleagues gave her a huge bunch of balloons since she really likes them.

The party aftermath. Yikes! It's a good thing that housekeeping has to clean it up.

This is Stanley the Snail that we got for Piper for her birthday. She liked to ride it at the beginning but lately she just likes to squeeze the antennae which make noises.

Messing around

Now, I'll admit that I put this netting on Piper's head (as a joke of course) but she kept it on for quite a while. It's the netting leftover from a bag of onions. Does anyone else think that she looks a bit like a lunchlady? Either that or she's channeling Grandma Mum and taking up millinery.

Piper's birthday is this week and since Rick is in Melbourne for work, we're taking the party to him. It should be fun. Although, she got a cold yesterday so we'll see. I think that she'll enjoy what we have planned. Stay tuned for photos to come.

When we get back we'll be MOVING. After months of looking we found a two-bedroom apartment, and it's in our building only nine floors up. With the help of movers and a babysitter, Piper and I will pack and move our stuff in two weeks. Wish us luck. Rick picked such a convenient time to have to travel for work.

(By the way, I want extra-credit for this post. Piper broke the spacebar on our computer two weeks ago and we have been managing with a quick-fix, however tonight I'm only able to space by pushing a very small, black button.)
