The Color Run

Earlier this year my mom told me that her ward's Relief Society was going to sign up as a group to run The Color Run.  The Color Run was founded by my friend Heidi and her husband Travis.  This run was scheduled for November in San Diego.  My awesome friend Chellese even agreed to come down from Utah to run it with me.  Well, between when we signed up and the race, I found out I was pregnant.  That meant that I would be walking, not running, my first-ever 5K.  My mom and Chellese were kind enough to walk with me.  

We headed down after school on Friday and enjoyed our lovely walk on Saturday morning.  Rick and the kids decided that we'll have to do the race again next year as a family.  Simon, in particular, was bummed that he couldn't walk with me.  At the end of the race, they have a major dance party (that Travis DJ'd) and the kids got lots of energy out and lots of color on them.  

We concluded the morning with breakfast at the Eggery, Rick's favorite breakfast place.  It did not disappoint.

Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Everywhere

My parents grew these massive pumpkins for us to pick.  The kids had fun designing the face for me to carve.

Halloween Adventures 2012

We had a lot of fun in October doing tons of Halloween stuff.  We went to the carnival at Piper's school with Grandma Vicki.  Simon and I went to the pumpkin patch with his preschool.  We went for a short visit to Mr. Bones pumpkin patch, which unbeknownst to use is apparently in the hot pumpkin spot for celebrities.  We brought school friends to the ward Trunk or Treat.  Rick's work had a big Halloween party.  Lots of spooky fun.

Simon told me later that he wished he could have passed out more candy (he only got to give it out to two kids since everyone was done).  He liked doing that more trick or treating, I think.

We dyed her hair black when she went trick or treating.  It was stinky stuff and we decided that we wouldn't do it again in the future.
