Snow - Take Two

At Christmas Simon fell asleep right before we went outside for him to experience snow for the first time.  I took Piper sledding and Simon came along for the ride.  He just wanted to eat the snow.  That's what teething gets you.  I call him our little blue marshmallow.

Children's Museum

We've been to the Cleveland Children's Museum once before.  This was our experience from the last trip.  I was and still am kind of unimpressed with the cleaniliness/newness of the building but their exhibits are well-thought out and educational.  Piper keeps asking to go back.  If it weren't such a long drive and cost a pretty penny, we'd go more often.

Valentine's Shirt and Braided Hair

We had a couple of days where Piper actually let, and sometimes requested, me to do her hair.  She wanted it "up."  This combined with a request to wear jeans one day and I was floored.  (Piper definitely prefers "comfy pants" or anything without buttons or zippers.)  I started with a ponytail and proceeded to some braids.  We got her a new Valentine's shirt too.  Isn't she pretty?

Sitting Up

Simon sat up for the first time about ten days ago.  We were at the Children's Museum and I just sat him up with me while we watched Piper play.  There were loads of pillows behind him but he wasn't leaning on them.  It was the first time that I had tried to see if he could sit on his own.  He did great and sat up twice and for long times too.  He doesn't even lean on his hands either.  These pics are of him sitting with a bit of assistance.

There's that startled look again.

Family Outing: Ice Skating

Little did I know when I suggested going ice skating for a family outing two weeks ago that Rick doesn't ice skate.  And he didn't mention it either until we were lacing up our skates.  Apparently he had been a couple times before when he was much younger.  I'm not great but I can hold my own.  Below is the evidence of our outing.

She's Crafty

Here is the latest smattering of Piper's Winter/Valentine's crafts.

Snow (made with a mixture of shaving cream and Elmer's glue)

I love that first snowman doorhanger.  She made it at the Eagles' Nest.

Piper's substitute Primary teacher is very talented.  He helped them make these flowers.

Tissue paper butterfly and a Valentine's wreath.

Piper's Valentine box for preschool

Tummy Time

Simon doesn't mind tummy time too much.  He can handle three to four minutes before he's tired and slobbery.  Like I said, I don't know where these looks come from.  Silly guy.

A boy and his giraffe

I had to catch this picture of Simon holding his giraffe teether.  He's lightly dozing here in the car but he held on to that giraffe.

Our Two Monkeys

Here's a progression of photos of Piper holding Simon.  Watch him slipping down, down.  I don't know why he has that startled look on his face.
