Month of Thanks

So it's November. Already?! My birthday is only two weeks away. Sheesh, where has this year gone?!

I'm kicking off this month by participating in a friend's challenge to express more gratitude. Check it out here.

Here goes day 1:

1. I'm thankful that Rick and I are getting away on our own next month. It will be the first time in four and a half years. Happy 10th anniversary to us. And an extra big thanks to my mom for changing her plans to watch the kids that weekend.

2. I love how easily amused and happy Simon is made by a helium balloon.

3. I love the movie "Multiplicity." Michael Keaton is so talented. It makes me laugh every time.

4. I'm thankful for fun lunchtime conversations with Piper while Simon naps. I love hearing what she has to say and about her dreams.

5. I'm thankful that Piper didn't get too much candy on Saturday. That way I'm not as tempted to steal it.

Two months and counting

So our computer died and though we've bought a new one, I can't use it yet since we don't have a desk to put it on. Soon, soon, I hope. I've had to survive by using my iPhone for the web.

I promise that upon my return to the blogging world I will have tons to share. Pics of our road trip, Halloween adventures, visits with family, and many other hijinks.

Thanks for sticking with us.

Still Here

Has it really been more than a month since I posted last?!  We've moved cross-country.  Rick started a new job.  We've been house hunting and looking at preschools.  The kids are drinking in their time with Grandma Vicki and Papa Allen.

I hope to have new posts up when we're a bit more permanent.

Big Boy

Simon is looking so grown up these days.  Like my sister-in-law I plead with my children to stop growing so fast, or at all.  They never listen.

Also, I think he may be a blondie.  It doesn't seem to be changing, and he has a little red tinge in it too.

Getting Dolled Up

Princess Night at Chick-Fil-A featured makeovers for the little girls.  Piper got her makeup done; she even picked her eye shadow color.  Then she made a bracelet.

Piper has always been a cute girl but those eyes are just heavenly. Rick thinks we need to consider getting her into modeling.

A few weeks later Piper got a free haircut at Rick's salon.  The girl doing her hair had such a fun time at it that she gave Piper some curls too.

She had to have a shot of her back too.

A Visit from Jane and Mary

Our friends Jane and Mary (and their parents Sam and Jamie) visited us on their way to and from New York.  We missed them in Chicago when we were there.  We went to Lucky's Cafe with them for breakfast.  It's my favorite breakfast joint.  We miss you friends!

Outdoor Fun

Grandma Vicki made the awesome "Olivia" skirt.

I love, love, love this little grin.
