1. Housekeeping. We've lived in this house for a little while now and I'm starting to feel things come together. I was able to sweep and mop my kitchen today, which desperately needed it. I went through some paperwork and bills. Just getting my ducks in a row. It seems that it's always two steps forward, one step back, keeping up with everything while trying to establish a home too but we'll get there.
2. Costco samples. Seriously, they get my kids so excited. Piper always asks if we can have the sample when we go to Costco. Today's were pretty good too - Pillsbury cinnamon rolls and chocolate-covered macadamia nuts. Oh, and their books are so reasonably priced. I got a hardcover new release for $17, retail price $28.
3. This butternut squash salad. It makes enough for two lunches. I know what I'll be having tomorrow.
4. Rick's good job. He still doesn't get much time with the kids between when he gets home and their bedtime but it's better than being gone half the week. He has a short commute too which is great.
5. It's birthday time next week, Monday to be exact. I dunno, I'm not feeling it so much this year. It's not my age. Maybe it's because when you're an adult, no one ever seems to care about your birthday as much as you do. Still, I'm grateful to be turning another year older.
