1. Pain-free grocery shopping. I am still missing the free babysitting at our old grocery story but today's trip was fairly easy. I'm still learning the layout of the store but the kids were well-behaved.
2. A new bathrobe. Rick got me a Sferra waffle-weave robe. It's like a hotel robe, large and luxurious.
3. Naptime. I am frequently grateful for this one. Piper was so good today, watching her movie quietly while Simon napped. I dozed on the couch too and got some needed rest after an early morning.
4. Road trip prospects. Next week, after Thanksgiving, my mom and I are taking the kids to my sister's house for a visit. It's been too long since I've been back to her house and almost three years since I've seen my brother-in-law Chad. (BTW, Rick's heading to Las Vegas with his brothers to watch some basketball.)
5. Parenting books. I have read quite a few lately and feel that I'm getting a bit of better grasp of my parenting philosophy and how to apply it. It's still theory though. I'm still working on putting it all into practice.

Of the parenting books you've read, which do you recommend?
I like Parenting with Love and Logic and Magic: 123. They are pretty different in philosophy but they helped me find more my center as a parent. You have to take some of the things they suggest with a grain of salt.
