Being down in San Diego for part of yesterday and most of today affected my plans to post. So here are some things I'm grateful for, in particular:
- My friend Chellese. Chellese is a dear friend. She is visiting us this weekend to participate in my first "race" ever. Along with my mom and a lot of her friends from church, we did the Color Run in San Diego. It was a blast and I'm especially grateful that they walked with me seeing as how I'm not supposed to run because of the pregnancy. (BTW, my friend Heidi that I grew up with, though she's a few years younger than me, she and her husband are the founders of the Color Run. So cool.)
- My mom, Vicki. If you know her, then you know what I'm talking about. If you don't know her, you wish you did. She is fun, funny, smart, adventurous, humble, and just a blast to be around. When I was younger, I was a bit jealous because my friends always seemed to like her more than they liked me. Now that I've matured (HA!) I can appreciate how awesome she is.
- Little kids dancing. My kids did a lot of dancing and jumping today at the Color Run. Their enthusiasm is captivating and life-affirming.
- The Eggery. This is Rick's second most favorite breakfast place in the world. I've never eaten something there that I didn't love. You truly need to order multiple things on their menu in one sitting to understand its greatness. I believe this place began Rick's love of granola pancakes.
- Our glorious bed. You know how you stay at a fancy hotel and just revel in how wonderful their beds are. I now long for our bed at home no matter where I'm staying. It's that nice. It's a Kluft, look it up. And no, we did NOT pay full price for ours, not even close.
